The Law of Moses VERSUS the Law of Messiah

Over the centuries the Church has had to deal with false teaching concerning how to interpretate and understand the Scripture.  Today there are a multitude more false doctrines being taught that impede, block and spiritually frustrate believers in their growth in Messiah Yeshua.  In this book the focus is do believers today have to observe the Mosaic Law or do we believers today have to be observers of the Law of Christ [Messiah].  It has increasingly become an area that needs to be clarified and expanded biblically.  God does not have problem with articulating and making Himself known in His word.  The problem comes when believers who are untaught or have an unbiblical bias that they superimpose on Scripture.  So, today the question that is raised is do we as believers have to adhere to Torah Observance, also known as keeping Torah in our obedience of Scripture or has Jesus rendered that law inoperative at the cross?  If He did are we now as believers without law?  The answer is an absolute, no!  Today in the Age of Grace, believers are to be following the Law of Christ or Messiah which Yeshua mediated at Calvary when he inaugurated the New Covenant.  This book will give a clear biblical answer to the detour spiritually that torah observance, or torah keepers, the Hebrew roots movement and Torah clubs teach to believers.  Do we focus on Moses or do we now focus on Jesus Christ and the Law of Messiah He has now authorized as we gather together as believers for study and worship whether in a church setting or a Messianic Congregation as our manual for living life in Messiah.

The Law, Then and Now: What About Grace?

In your church circles, within your family or close friends have they been or are they in the process of being swallowed up in the Messianic Torah Observance movement: Being a believer in Christ and yet being taught that to be a good Christian you most keep the Mosaic Law. Or have you seen these same believers get tangled up the Hebrew Roots movement teaching the necessity of obeying the Mosaic Law because when they accepted the Jewish Messiah they have become Jewish and thus are to obey the Law of Moses and are to wear the entire Jewish religious garb and the keeping of the Jewish feasts?

Do you know of believers who use the man-made law as their default code of living the Christian life with all the legalism that goes along with it. This being prevalent in many believers in the churches to varying degrees were they have those made-man laws that must be kept, and use them as a limpness test to judge believers as to their spirituality or lack of it. All three of these teachings miss the mark and the intent of God in the Scriptures. They focus on Laws that cannot be kept, or they focus on other man-made laws [legalism] that are not given by God and they enforce them on other believers. Law keeping in any form is a works religion not solely based on Faith, and Faith alone by His Grace. We as believers are to focus on being Christ-like, not like Moses or someone’s else’s [legalistic] convictions. In my new book, The Law, Then and Now: What About Grace I deal the Then aspect with the purposes, functions and limitations of the Law of Moses showing to believers the Law of Moses has been rendered inoperative. It ceased to be the standard of living since the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as Paul clearly teaches in Romans and Galatians.

The Tri-unity of God is Jewish

The re-edited edition of The Tri-unity of God (2019) was published by Joni Prinjinski of Purple Raiment, an imprint of JHouse Publishing (www.JHousePublishing.com). It was originally self-published in 2006 and was out of print for several years until this re-edited version was published. The cover is be the same, but it is formatted for 7” x 10” instead of 8” x 11”. Because of the smaller format it is around 400 pages instead of 300. This volume is the abridged work of Metzger’s signature work of 950 pages called Discovering the Mystery of the Unity of God.

Description of contents:

A Theological Study on the Plurality and Tri-unity of God in the Hebrew Scriptures. The importance of this critical study cannot be separated from the eternal destiny of Jewish souls. If you are witnessing to Jewish friends (or desire to do so), this book will enable you to present the Bible in a way that will help reach the lost house of Israel. Many Christian scholars down play the significance of the Tri-unity of God in the Hebrew Scriptures.

Poking God’s Eye

poking-Gods-eyeToday anti-Semitism is on the rise again. It has always been a historical issue from the beginning of God’s choosing of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But few people connect the relationship that God has with the Jewish people and the State of Israel. The central issue is the Abrahamic Covenant of       Genesis 12 and in particular verse 3. There God makes a clear statement as a warning to all Gentiles of all time. It is called the blessings and curses of the Abrahamic Covenant. It states the following, and I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you. Throughout this book I will show the outworking of the blessings and curses of the Abrahamic Covenant through nations and individuals who chose to curse Israel and, of course, those who chose to bless Israel. It is a promise to Israel and a warning to Gentiles from Genesis 12 through the tribulation period, and it has not diminished in intensity or departed from the mind and heart of God throughout all of Scripture. To curse Israel is to curse the God of Israel and today Christians and secular nations are cursing Israel and in so doing they are cursing God who provided them with salvation.

Life of Messiah Abridged

During His ministry to the Jewish people, Yeshua (Jesus) journeyed throughout the land promised to the Jewish patriarchs, presenting Himself to the Jews as their Messiah. He was a Jew living in a Jewish land among the Jewish people. Yet, much of the knowledge of this Jewish society, its culture and traditions has grown dim with the passage of time. In this work, Dr. Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum shines a bright light on the life of Yeshua and the land of Israel during the Second Temple period, interpreting the Gospels from a Messianic Jewish perspective. To achieve this, Dr. Fruchtenbaum had done original research in the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek source texts, and has also drawn on the works of other scholars and the writings of ancient rabbis. It has taken about four decades of research and work for the account of the life and ministry of Yeshua the Messiah to come into its present form, published by Ariel Ministries in four volumes and an abridged version. The abridgment contains essentially the same material as the multi-volume set, but excludes the source texts for Dr. Fruchtenbaum’s teaching. Ariel’s Harmony of the Gospels provides the framework for his exegesis. Dr. Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum holds a B.A. degree from Cedarville University in Hebrew and Hellenistics, a Th.M. degree in Hebrew and Old Testament Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, and received his Ph.D. from New York University with the completion of his dissertation, Israelology: The Missing Link in Systematic Theology. He is the founding director of Ariel Ministries and a much respected biblical authority in evangelical and messianic circles.

In the Shame of Jesus

Have you ever wondered why the Jewish people do not trust the “church” and want nothing to do with the Christian Jesus? Why have Jewish people received such bad press from Christians over the centuries? There is a hidden history of church sponsored anti-Semitism deeply embedded in the DNA of the organized Christian church. There are multiple skeletons in their closets. I remember having studied Church History in Bible School and not a word was given over to the conflict between Judaism and the organized Christian church. Most people have some vague idea that something was not right between them, but they have no idea as to the hidden history that has made the Jewish people dig in their heels against the message of the gospel of Christ and wanting to distant themselves as far away from the church as could be possible. My good friend William Heinrich has spent much time in uncovering this hidden history of anti-Semitism of the church. His book opens up two completely misunderstood issues that have their roots beginning in the 2nd century church and the ramifications of that theological movement that still cloaks the minds today of most Bible believers who give great honor to the literal interpretation of the Scriptures.

Israel’s Only Hope: The New Covenant

Israel's Only Hope What is the New Covenant? In Jewish and Christian circles this subject will get a blank expression and a movement of the shoulder saying, “I don’t know anything about it.” Both Jewish and Christian audiences have a very inadequate understanding of this covenant. Jewish people do not understand it because they are completely focused on Rabbinic Law and do not understand that the law only judges and condemn a sinner, it does not remove sin. Whereas, the New Covenant gives everlasting life. It does what the Law was incapable of doing. After reading this book you will have biblical understanding but even more important a spiritual understanding of your place in the Messiah and God’s fulfillment of all the eternal covenants made with Israel that He will fulfill in the Kingdom.

God in Eclipse: God Has Not Always Been Silent

God-in-Eclipse God in Eclipse: God Has Not Always Been Silent, is a totally unique study for the inquiring lay person, Jewish or Christian, who wants to know the God of the Hebrew Scriptures.  It is written particularly to Jewish people who have not been trained in the Scriptures and who wonder why the God of the Old Testament is silent to them.  The author walks both Jewish and Christian readers on all spiritual levels through the Hebrew Scriptures into the New Testament to see a consistent picture of what God wants us to know about Himself. Discovering the Mystery of the Unity of God

Discovering the Mystery of the Unity of God Discovering the Mystery of the Unity of God provides an eye-opening exploration of the triune nature of God from the pages of the Old and New Covenants. The approach is reverent, yet encyclopedic, with each of the 19 chapters and 8 appendices being a self-contained look at various facets of the plural unity of God. The fully annotated text also includes a bibliography, author and Scripture indices, an epilogue addressing Jewish issues, and a glossary of terms. The reader may be surprised to discover that the great preponderance of references to God's triunity occur in the Old Covenant Scriptures. Serious theology students, seminaries, and church libraries will benefit from this engaging tour of God's Word in search of new understanding of God's nature from the richness of the Bible's Jewish perspective.
